Jordan Shipping Association Participates in the Ninth Maritime Day Events in Aqaba

The Jordan Shipping Association took part in the Ninth Maritime Day events, held in the city of Aqaba under the theme:
“A Jordanian Maritime Sector – Challenges and Ambitions.”
The event was held under the patronage of Eng. Omar Al-Dabbas, Director General of the Jordan Maritime Authority, representing Her Excellency the Minister of Transport, and witnessed wide participation from representatives of Jordan’s maritime sector from both public and private sectors, as well as the presence of Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt.

This participation reflects the Association’s commitment to directly engaging with national events that highlight the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime transport sector, and to exploring ways to develop and enhance its competitiveness.

The Association was represented by a delegation that included:

  • Mr. Zaid Al-Kalaldeh – Chairman of the Board
  • Mr. Mashhoor Al-Jazi – Vice Chairman
  • Capt. Yousef Al-Sarhan – Board Member
  • Capt. Mohammad Al-Dalabeh – Secretary General
  • Mr. Raad Hakouz – Assistant Director General
  • Mr. Muneer Maamar – JSA Representative in Aqaba

Capt. Mohammad Al-Dalabeh, Secretary General of the Association, took part in a significant panel discussion titled:
“Navigation in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb Before and After the War,”
where he addressed the geopolitical shifts in the region and their impact on regional navigation and international trade. He emphasized the importance of Arab and international coordination to confront future challenges in this critical maritime corridor.

Additionally, Capt. Yousef Al-Sarhan participated in a second panel discussion titled:
“Maritime Education and Training,”
which focused on the importance of the maritime education sector and ways to enhance and elevate its status.

At the conclusion of the event, the Jordan Shipping Association was honored as one of the official supporters of the event, in recognition of its leading role and ongoing efforts in supporting and developing the maritime transport system in the Kingdom, and in strengthening partnerships with national stakeholders in this vital sector.
